I'M MADE OF THIS

Looking back at my posts since 2005, I think I have matured.

STELLA MCCARTNEY X GAP

My little one will definitely rock in this outfit! Pink and grey combi is totally a marriage.

KITCHEN LOVE

I was inspired by Yusri's kitchen all the way. The idea of having the family having dinner in the kitchen (straight off the stove) is wonderful!

Found this via Black Eiffel and this is giving me lots of inspiration for my own piece in the little dream home of ours!

BLAZER LOVE

You will be seeing blazers everywhere this month. On a hot sunny day. I've got mine locked and loaded in my bag!

FACEBOOK STATUS

"I should keep my creativity behind closed doors- locked and loaded. This creative mind does not belong to invaluable people who deems it as irrelevant at the workplace. Plus, whether it's creative or not, it's no longer a battle of the creative anymore. It's a battle of the stupidity and ego tripping."

10 REASONS WHY...

... I am so afraid of getting hitched at this age (or even later than that)

  1. the venue pressure... Malay weddings at void deck, is that unglam or creative?
  2. worth value... The higher the education, the higher the dollar limit rises.
  3. freedom of ideas... do you want to go my way or your way or whichever way? aiyah!
  4. invitation cards... will it be my friends or will it be yours?
  5. the ring... does it have to be diamond all the time? I am so sick of it!
  6. parking lord... how many of you drives a car or lorry or motorcycle or bus?
  7. the wedding favour... do you want it to be chocolates or keepsakes for memories?
  8. the fitting... what colour should compliment my figure? or what style? argh, forget it.
  9. wedding vibe/new trend... will 5 years from now make people be more open to ideas?
  10. the two sides... the future family and the existing families, who will these combine into one?

Regardless of the jitterbugs, I believe we should be giving love a second chance... I am a little nervous for the future. I don't mind a Tiffany and Co. I don't mind the void deck. I don't mind the conflict a month away or a day before the wedding celebration.

What I mind the most is

  1. the wedding certification/license at the mosque
  2. the idea of compromising for my very own wedding
  3. colour choice clash
  4. quality of food
  5. what if the date clashes with the venue and will the weather stays great?

SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT

"I've realized that I can't stand conferences. To me, conferences are akin to watching television without Tivo, or going to AAA to get a triptik instead of mapping a journey on Google. Conferences are an old workhorse model--a mix of passive consumption and fluorescent lighting--that is at odds with the seeds of inspiration they are supposed to inspire.

Almost without exception, after each conference I attend, I swear I'll never go again.

But we do need them, or something like them. We need to get together face-to-face and talk about challenges, successes, and failures. We need to learn from each other--not through PowerPoints but facial expressions."

666TH POST: SELF-TAUGHT

I always believed in YOUniversity, where self-taught learning is rounded and flexible. No exams, just a real-life challenges and tests. I believe in making it on my own without going through multiple lectures, acing the exams and mugging all through the night.

Being in a YOUniversity allows you to understand thoroughly. The things you learnt in the real university doesn't cut it. Understanding your challenge, going through your mistakes, talking it out to the experts and reading your resources, filling in the gaps and identifying your breakthrough success. That is what it is in a YOUniversity

... Except that you don't have that $500,000 certificate for graduating or a title!

21ST CENTURY LIFE

I could see the geek in my babies. But hey, in 6 years' time, everything will change - Again!

What do I mean?

Kids as young as 4 years old are familiar with what is a PSP, Nintendo DS, mobile phones (anything better than mine, read touch screens) and HD, what would kids in 2015 think? What would they learn? What would be the next technology?

Worst still. What if there is a better social networking sites than Facebook or Twitter?

I'm hoping and praying that my kids will be better at those new gadgets and tech stuff to teach me and my husband to be ahead of those other parents out there.

So, are we on or what?!
